On 26 October 2026, Croatia announced European Commission approval for a €60 million support scheme aimed at companies exposed to high electricity costs associated with EU carbon pricing. The programme targets eligible sectors such as iron and steel, paper and chemicals, with compensation of up to 80% of qualifying indirect emissions costs.
